When is it okay to start lifting weights again?

I am a 16 year old male. I have been working out for some time now. I mostly do bodybuilding exercises. Such as working my biceps, triceps, legs, etc. After i complete my workout the body part that i worked for that day will be sore the next day.

I know you shouldn't work out again while the muscle is sore.

I have heard people say that you should allow a week for your muscle to recover and that is what i have been doing. But at the same time it doesn't feel like i am working them enough.

For example, lets say on Sunday i work my biceps. At least 24hrs later they are sore. But they usually feel at top notch within 3 days. Wouldn't it be ok to work them out again once they feel back to normal?

Ok, when you work out pure muscles tear and that explains the soreness… Stretch them! Once a week is ok but you should be ok after 3 days… However you should switch up your workout every month… Example… Biceps and triceps one day, chest shoulder another , legs back… After a month switch it up … Biceps shoulders, chest and back, legs and triceps as keep switching them up.. It's important for your muscles to rest and repair the torn fibers but when you feel you're recovered… Work them out… But you need to rest at least 2 days a week… Not in a row
