The 5 Best Exercises For When You Are Out of Shape

When you are a bit out of shape, you have to pick your exercises wisely. Because you have to ease into your exercise, the exercises you chose are very important.

Choosing the wrong exercises can exhaust you to much, they can hinder your progress and you can even get hurt.

So choose your exercises wisely with the help of this article.

Here are the 5 best exercises to do when you are out of shape:

1. Walking

Walking is one of the best exercises to do when you are out of shape. It helps you to ease into things and to avoid getting too much overexerted.

Take things easy in the beginning and only take on easy flat surfaces and then slowly build your way up to more steep terrains. You can also start slow and then slowly increase your speed.

2. Swimming

Swimming is a great low intensity exercise and it will feel like you are not really exercising. You should also start slow with the swimming, tackling only a few laps in the beginning and increasing your laps as you get fitter. You can also buy some water dumbbells and do some water exercises.

3. Light cardio

When you are a bit out of shape, you can still do cardio, but stick to light cardio – don’t take it too fast or up the intensity too high.

And don’t do more than 20 minutes at a time. One of the best ways to increase your fitness levels is to do interval training, where you take the pace and the intensity up each minute until you break out and then you lower it again and repeat.

4. Light weight training

Light weight training will make you strong and lean. Make sure to only lift light weights in the beginning and to slowly increase your weight load.

Exercise your lower and upper body on 2 separate days and don’t push yourself too hard.

5. Pilates

Pilates is another low intensity exercise that strengthens the core. It increases your flexibility and it tones and strengthens the whole body without being too high intensity.

Take up a few of these exercises and start your fitness plan. As you get fitter you can increase the intensity or the weight load of your exercise. The most important thing to consider when you are unfit is consistency -that’s the only way that you will get fit again.
