Valentine’s day is the day for love and for showing your significant other how much you care about them.
In recent years it seems that this special day has lost it’s true meaning and now all it’s about is how much you spend. But the truth is, you don’t need to spend a fortune to show someone how much you love them.
Here are a few romantic Valentine’s gift ideas for those on a budget.
1. A Home Made Scrapbook
A great Valentine’s gift idea on a budget is a home made scrapbook. You can collect together some photographs of the two of you together and stick them inside along with any other special momento’s you have collected. You can purchase some cheap stick on gems and ribbon to decorate the outside of the scrapbook before you present it to them.
2. Home Made Cookies, biscuits, or cupcakes
The way to a man (or woman’s) heart truly is through their stomach so why not treat them to some home made cookies or cupcakes. This is a perfect Valentine’s gift on a budget because not only will it show them you care but it won’t cost a fortune either. All you will need to purchase is ingredients such as eggs, milk, flour and butter. If you don’t know any cupcake or cookie recipes then a simple search online will bring up thousands. When they have baked and cooled you can also personalize them with your partners name in icing and put them in a small tub with a pretty ribbon wrapped around it.
3. Create Some Love Tokens
Love tokens are little scraps of paper or cardboard with favors written on them that your partner can trade in anytime they like. The favors on the love tokens can include any number of things from washing the dishes to feeding the pets, putting the kids to bed or even sexy favors for the bedroom. You can purchase love tokens online or in the stores for fairly cheap or why not make your own on scraps of cardboard.
4. Create A Playlist
Another great romantic Valentine’s gift idea on a budget is to create a playlist of your loved one’s favorite songs. Songs can bring back good memories for some people so think back to what songs remind you of special times with your partner. Why not put the playlist on whilst you serve them a romantic dinner for two with candles.
5. Special Notes
On the night before Valentine’s day write special love notes on pieces of paper and leave them in places where your partner can find them the next day. You can leave one under their pillow, one on the fridge, one in their car and so on. Imagine their surprise when they discover these little notes of love in unexpected places throughout the day.
You should always remember that Valentine’s Day doesn’t need to cost a fortune. There are many different ways you can show your love to your partner without breaking the bank, and most of these frugal Valentine’s gift ideas can be more fun than anything money can buy.
