Yes, you’ll definitely look a lot older than you did ten years ago. But you shouldn’t feel too bad about it. Everyone has to deal with this dilemma, and if there’s one thing you can be certain of, it’s that you get older every second.

The changes, of course, don’t become apparent immediately. It takes time to see the fine lines and wrinkles that add up, and the age spots that slowly multiply.

If you go out of the sun often, you hasten the process. Sure, it’s fun to spend the day just basking under the heat of the sun, especially when you hear the waves crash on the shore.

But then, you also have to think about the long-term effects. Will that one moment be worth it? Chances are, you’ll regret all your past actions when you see that you look older than how you should actually look.

Before you even consider cosmetic surgery, you need to live a healthier lifestyle. Help your body cope with the changes and make your system stronger when fighting with the effects of passing time.

So, what do you do? Here are just a few tips:

1. Slather on sunscreen every single day!.
You expose yourself to the sun even when you stay indoors. The UVA rays penetrate through windows, and as long as you go outside, you still expose yourself to some of the risks.

This is even more dangerous because you won’t be able to feel the heat on your skin when it’s actually there. While it can’t erase the damage you’ve already done, you will be able to prevent future problems from happening.

2. Drop those bad habits!.
You love to enjoy a glass or two of wine every now and then. That’s okay, but make sure you control your intake.

Alcohol dries up your skin, and when your skin is dry, you are more prone to wrinkles. For those smokers, you need to stop smoking immediately.

Cigarettes contain free radicals and toxins that destroy enzymes. These enzymes help with skin repair, and you need to make sure that you have as much of these in your system as possible.

3. Rehydrate with water!.
Water provides moisture. And with this, your skin looks tighter, younger, and healthier. Have at least eight to ten glasses each day.

It helps to have a nice container that’s easy to bring around. When you constantly have a glass of water in your hand, you are more likely to drink.

4. Moisturize, moisturize, and moisturize some more!.
After you wash all the dust and grime with water and cleanser, apply moisturizer and keep your skin soft and smooth.

5. Lastly but not leastly , eat healthy!.
Opt for meals that are high in fiber so you cleanse your system better and get rid of all those unwanted toxins that are inside your system.

When you do all these and still see that there is still work to be done, talk to a professional cosmetic surgeon. You may look into treatments like Botox, facelift, liposuction, and chemical peels.

These are all effective when it comes to staving off aging, but they can even be better when you also know how to take care of yourself.
