Pimples on the forehead – Causes and remedies….the worst place to get pimples after the cheeks is the forehead. One may try hiding these zits with bangs, but let’s face it, it’s not always possible to hide pimples and we may have to go around walking with these embarrassing breakouts on the forehead.

But if you are regularly suffering from pimples on the forehead alone, you need to know that these are not the normal kind of pimples that happen due to excessive oil secretion. In this article we will explore the causes of pimples on the forehead so that you are better informed and can take steps to rectify it.

The T-zone problem

The face as you might be knowing, has a distinct T-zone. The forehead forms the head of this “T”. If you have an excessively oily skin, chances are that your breakouts are concentrated on the forehead. The pores of the skin on the forehead get clogged regularly attracting bacteria and causing inflammation. If you have an oily T-zone, it is recommended that you follow a proper cleansing routine followed by steam therapy.

However make sure that you do not steam your face for more than 3-5 minutes at a stretch, for it may then have an adverse impact if your skin in naturally acne prone.

Digestive disorders

Chinese wisdom says that the root cause of pimples on the forehead if you have digestive disorders. When you have digestive disorders, you obviously need to keep a watch on what you are eating. Cut out the carbs and processed sugars from your diet and opt for leafy greens and other fibrous substances that will restore your digestive health. Also make sure you are drinking loads of water to keep yourself properly hydrated.

Oily scalp or dandruff

Pimples on the forehead may also be the result of an excessively oily scalp. If that is the case, you need to wash your head with a mild shampoo at least every alternate day. On the other hand pimples on the forehead may also be caused by a dry scalp that in turn causes dandruff. In order to get rid of the dandruff, use a good anti dandruff shampoo.

Wearing head gear

Pimples on the forehead may also be caused if you are wearing head gear much too often. If you are wearing head gear such as helmets for a long period of time, cover your forehead with a clean cloth before you put it on. Friction with the surface of the head gears you wear with your skin may be causing pimples on your forehead.

Do not overdo exfoliation

You have been told that in order to avoid pimples and acne, you must exfoliate your skin regularly. However if the exfoliation is overdone, you run the risk of aggravating the pimples on your forehead. At best exfoliation should be done twice a week.

The stress factor

Today all of us lead busy and complicated lives. While stress does not cause pimples per se, it certainly does aggravate them. If pimples and worry lines are occurring much too often on your forehead, you need to be able to relax a little. Try yoga or meditation and keep yourself calm.

Following a simple cleansing routine and keeping yourself calm will not make your pimples disappear all at once. However, it will improve your general state of health and reduce your susceptibility to acne.
