I am 15 and I would really like to lose some weight .. but many people tell me that going on a diet at my age is bad , i would like to get some tips to lose weight without really being on a diet ?
Good for you for trying to stay healthy. Right now, developing a healthy lifestyle is far more important than losing weight and many diets are not sustainable and only result in temporary weight loss. Instead, here are some tips to stay healthy:
-exercise! Find an exercise that you enjoy, such as running, dancing, a sport such as soccer, swimming, hiking or anything else that you find enjoyable, and then try to make exercise a regular part of your routine.
-eat lots of fruits and vegetables. Not only do they contain important vitamins and minerals, but they're also low in calories and high in fiber and a very important part of a healthy diet
-be aware of nutrition labels. Knowing what is in the food you eat and looking at things such as portion size, calorie content and the nutrients contained in various foods will help you to make better, healthier decisions. This doesn't mean you have to count calories – in fact, you probably shouldn't – but being aware of nutritional information will help you to be healthier.
-stick to portion sizes. Most people eat far more than the recommended portion size – one portion of meat is 3 oz, or about the size of a deck of cards; one portion of dairy is one cup, one portion of bread is an ounce and a portion size of fruit or vegetable is one cup
-Aim to eat a low-fat diet. Again, you don't have to count fat grams or anything, but you should aim to eat less than 30% of your calories from fat. Since one gram of fat has more calories than a gram of carbohydrate or protein, this will help you to stay slimmer and will reduce your risk of heart problems in the future.
-learn more about nutrition. being aware of what you need to live a healthy life will help you to make better decisions and continue this healthy lifestyle.
I hope that this advice helped, and good luck
