Okay, I am not only going on a diet, I'm going to try to turn my whole lifestyle around too. I want to eat healthier so I feel better physically and about myself. But first things first- I need to lose some weight, and so I was wondering, does anyone have some helpful food suggestions?? try to think cheap please if possible (because I'm a highschool student with only a weekend job, so I don't make much money.) And also any helpful little routine excersises? I have the basics, but other ideas wouldn't hurt to try out.
Here's a good list of various kinds of healthy types of food, the main thing is to watch your portions too. Just because you eat chicken doesn't make it healthy really if you eat like 2 huge pieces or something. Check out the list though for ideas with foods:
Crab (try canned, instead of tuna!)
Egg Whites (boxed work well)
Extra Lean Ground Turkey, Chicken, or Beef (at least 95% lean)
Beans (black,red, brown)
Cream of Rice
Oat Bran Hot Cereal
Rice Cakes (non-flavored)
Tortillas (corn, rice, or spelt)
Wheat Bran (FULL of fiber, perfect for low carb plans)
Natural Peanut Butter (no oil added)
“Free” Veggies (few carbs; mostly fiber)—
Peppers (GREEN; red and yellow have carbs)
Dieting can be boring so it's good to change it up and try new things! 🙂 It will help you stay on track. I'm 25 now, and in high school I weighed well over 200 lbs. My senior year I got sick of how I looked and decided to lose weight too. At first I did everything wrong, like not eat and take tons of diet pills but even though I lost a lot of weight that way initially, I still wasn't tone. I started going to the gym regularly since I was about 19 and have been going ever since. I've seen a huge difference and only weigh about 150 (I'm tall, 5'9″) pounds with lean muscle and am really into fitness and health. Hope this helps you though.
As far as exercise routines it is hard to just post things on here, there are a million different things you can do. I would try to work out 45 minutes to an hour or more, at least 5 or 6 days a week, include cardio and some light weight lifting to tone and build muscle. Muscle and fitness magazine gives me good workout tips sometimes and you can find some others on http://bodybuilding.com/. Hope that helps 🙂 any more questions feel free to ask!
P.S. Good luck on the lifestyle change. I know mine was a complete change and it's not only benefited my health but I also am way more confident now. Stick with it and don't give up! 🙂
