If you are serious about losing weight, you need to follow a very effective and reliable weight loss plan. Since the Internet provides tons of information about weight loss programs and diets you can try; it can be hard to decipher which is the best option for you.
Most sites will provide you with information and tips on how to get rid of excess fat, how to whip up low carb meals and most web pages talk about how you can benefit from diet pills or supplements.
You have two options here: One – you can try any of the methods for losing weight or; Two – you can initially try to find out why diets fail. This way, you can come up with the right weight loss plan that can address the factors affecting the low success rate of certain diet programs.
When your diet fails on you, it is only normal to feel angry, disappointed, frustrated and even helpless. You may end up with a mix of emotions; however, if you will learn and understand why these diets fail, you’ll be able to come up with your own successful weight loss program in no time.
Of course, when you get into a new diet plan, you need to set realistic goals and motivations. This is actually the number one reason why people fail in their weight loss plans – they set up unrealistic goals and seek instant gratification.
Other reasons why diets fail include mental barriers and environmental factors. Mental barriers comprise of the above mentioned unrealistic goals. Let’s say you want to lose 20 pounds in 3 weeks to one month, do you think this goal is realistic? It’s not! If you keep doing this, it can lead to discouragement whenever you fail to meet your goal.
To set your records straight, the noted ideal weight loss is about 1-2 pounds a week. This means, 8 pounds a month should be your ideal goal. Furthermore, if you will attempt to lose weight too quickly, this can lead to serious health problems and even unsightly sagging skin.
Environmental factors can also lead to diet failure. For example, you decide to go on a diet before Christmas and Thanksgiving – Do you think you will succeed in losing weight? You won’t! If you will attempt to start your diet during the major holidays, your diet will just crash and burn.
The ideal weight loss plan is to start 4 to 5 weeks prior to major holidays or special events involving food. In doing so, you can help your body avoid unhealthy foods and reduce the cravings.
You need to mix it with religious exercise routines such as 30 minutes of straight exercise or two 15 minute workouts everyday. You can still enjoy your favorite foods but in moderation. Cutting them out will just lead to serious cravings.
